Each year we ask some of the professional members of the bands that are playing at our festival to teach a workshop, maybe a banjo player from one and a mandolin player from another or a fiddle player from another. These band members do the workshops on a voluntary basis to share their talents and knowledge with people of all ages, that are trying to learn to play a certain bluegrass instrument.

KIDS IN BLUEGRASS

This was such a big success and fun thing for our kids that we will feature it again this year. Kids in Bluegrass is hosted by Raynae Redmond of White Bird, Idaho. She has a two hour class on Saturday Aug. 29th from 11:00a.m. to 1:15p.m. This is for kids 6 to 18 years of age. If they can play a bluegrass instrument, that’s great but if they don’t Raynae has extra instruments and will teach the kids some songs to play and sing. The kids will play during the main concert from 1:30 to 2:15p.m.
